So, your heading to Jakarta? Great! This is a nice stop for a 48 hour layover or a taste of this area. Jakarta was not my favorite place to stay long-term in Indonesia, but it did have a few great spots to check out for history and to learn about the local culture. 3 Days in the Beautiful Salalah Area – The Greenest Area in the GCC
Salalah This has got to be the most beautiful green and flourishing location in the GCC! Everywhere you look there are plants, trees, greenery, friendly and happy people, spectacular scenery, and some amazing places to explore! I was able to do 3 days, and it was a great experience and worth every minute! If you can spare a few more days, I’m sure you could add to this itinerary easily! Muscat to Rustaq and Al Hawqayn Area Sights: Waterfall, Hiking, Hot springs, Castles, Picnic areas, Mountain views and Wadis Al Hawqayn has a great area with a flowing waterfall. Depending on when you visit, the size of the waterfall will vary of course. In April there was a small side fall with about 1 meter wide of water flowing. I was in this area mainly for hiking and the view, so we proceeded past the falls and into the boulder and mountainous wadi. The hike is pretty easy if you are able to climb small boulders. …
